What I have learned about affirmation statements…
THEY WORK Y’ALL!
Ok, well it’s not like it’s some kind of magic.
Like every other exercise out there,
it’s about retraining your brain.
Changing your thinking.
when you change your words from
I want to be more positive,
I am positive,
your thinking changes,
your actions change,
the way you react to others changes.
It’s not magic.
It takes a little time.
Because you are changing a habit.
The habit is that you are wishing on stars.
Oh, someday I’d like to be a more positive person…
as I sit here and not change anything,
I expect the positive fairy to just come
down out of the cloud that has been looming over my head,
and spread positive fairy dust on my head and BAM!
Nope… doesn’t work like that.
You change your words,
that changes your thinking,
that changes your actions,
your heart changes.
the cloud disperses,
and slowly but surely
you are a more positive person.
“I am” are the most powerful words in the world.
Two little words.
Just try it!
Wanna make it easier?
Make sure you are taking a few moments
early in the morning, or before you go to bed,
and read some scripture,
listen to some positive meditation.
and while you are at it,
are you still journaling three things that you are
grateful for each day?
Three positive things that happened today.
Put them down.
And in the comments,
tell me one statement that you are committing
to change from “I want” to “I am”.
Or leave your gratefuls.
You can do this!
