Did that title make you uncomfortable,
did you think “wow, she’s full of herself”,
did you have to read it twice?
I ask, because those were some of my reactions.
To writing it.
We all have a new outlook because it is a new year.
I have spent the last week writing, planning,
filing down what I want to do with myself.
I have spent the last week also trying to find colors, tweaking the logo,
finding my planner, reading books, listening to books.
Hard stuff, trying to decide an area of focus.
I am not good at that.
So when Elise (I’ve mentioned her before) gave us 6 areas to look at
I was like “oh yeah, I can do that”.
Personal: 180, Daily Exercise, Daily Meditation, Positive, Fierce.
Spirituality: REALLY trust God to give me all necessary grace, strength, and tools to accomplish my goals which (if I’m doing it right) are also His goals for me.
Relationships: Increase communication, Be more present, Stay in contact.
Education: Kids – be demanding, be determined, 100% done.
Me – Personal Development
Career: Le-Vel build relationships, Blog weekly, Beading all on site and adding new.
Finances: 1M, Savings account, Giving, Plan gifts
When I got done writing that down, I was sweating, panicky, and had butterflies in my stomach.
It looked like SOOOO MUCH!
Here is where I usually get stuck.
But, I didn’t.
Break it down, pick one main goal and add three steps to attain that goal.
1. Exercise daily
2. Eat well
3. Get rid of stress
WAIT… picking that one main goal, and breaking it down took care of ALL my personal goals.
No guarantee that will happen with all of them, but how cool was that. 4 goals just became 1.
Spirituality: Trust God
1. Study Gods word.
2. Memorize Gods plans for us.
3. Apply these to my life.
Yup. There we go. I can do this. I do it in my biblical studies class anyway.
But now I am doing it with a clear focus and purpose in mind.
1. Learn from others HOW.
2. Apply, DO.
3. Have patience, because others won’t know what I’m doing.
Education: Kids 100% done.
1. Put the plan on my calendar. (continue)
2. Stick to it. (continue)
I have continued here because I did not want to loose this as a focus.
We have been working hard on this, and I wanted to make sure it was continued
in the new year. Which makes this one sort of a gimme.
Old goals continued still count.
1. Power of 3’s
2. EVERY DAY
3. 3-way calls (I will learn to love them)
1. Build $ to start a significant savings account.
2. Save 50% of earnings.
3. Plan for giving big.
Reminder to self: Be smart about spending/not spending.
The last part was very strange for me.
You see the weeks before this exercise I had already started
to find and turn around some of my limiting beliefs.
So the questions that were posed to us were answered with my old mindset.
It was good for me to do this.
It showed me just how much my thinking had already begun to shift.
We ended with turning our limiting beliefs into
I am strong enough to work hard and eat right.
I am capable of being stress-free and happy.
I trust God enough to let Him direct me.
I trust God enough.
I can communicate effectively with others needs in mind.
I am generous with my time and praise.
I am capable of getting these kids caught up.
We are capable of staying on track.
I am fierce in sharing my experience.
I am not standing in my own way.
I love all aspects of this business.
Even the calls.
I am saving, being smart with my money,
and planning for a generous life.
I gotta say, most of those are not solid.
You can’t expect to go through one or two exercises
and totally change your habits.
We have been reminded that we can
take a step back,
rethink what we are doing,
and go forward with the new thinking back in place.
What do you think of this process?
If you would like more info on the particulars of the process
questions and worksheets etc.
go see Elise HERE.
I did have someone ask why I keep sending my readers to other websites.
I have found inspiration there.
I have not made these things myself.
Someday I might have more of my own resources,
but I have found value in sharing my experience with using others resources
AND, for now at least, why reinvent the wheel.
God has a plan for me
I am certain it isn’t to re-do what others have done,
but to go through it,
grow through it,
and share my own branch of the tree when I come to it.
Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments.
