Vents, Rants, & Negative Words
OH, I AM SO BAD AT THIS!
When I need to vent I tend to do it to myself,
but out loud.
Yes, I talk to myself a lot.
Not just to vent.
The problem with venting or voicing negative words
is that they tend to seep really deep in the brain,
and become part of your thinking.
Some call this “stinking thinking”.
And it really does stink.
What I have decided to use a Venting Hack instead.
I choose to write down my stinking thinking thoughts.
Tear up the paper into little bits,
just because it gets that aggression out.
Burn the bits,
in a safe and controlled area, of course.
As it burns and the smoke rises
I say something like “I release these negative feelings, thoughts, words”
And I watch them go up in smoke.
Then I ask God to help me REALLY release them.
And to find more positive feelings, thoughts, words
for that situation.
Because sometimes I am so stubborn.
Yes, I still talk to myself.
But this had helped.
Our brains are so fantastic!
Little sponges, soaking up every thought
and making it internal.
The trick seems to be to make sure that we feed it
much more positive than negative.
Life is messy, though.
We are bound to have negative thoughts.
I have not found a way around that one.
BUT we can control how we react to the negative.
We can decide to push it out of our brains
and release it.
It is up to us.
And we decide if, and when, we ask for help.
Who do you ask for help?
Do you have a Venting Hack?
What do you do with your “stinking thinking”?
Leave me a comment. Enjoy your day!
