When the day is really, really long
the moment you realize that
you just stop and breathe.
Do something unexpected.
Today was long.
My keys are gone, the kids had them last.
So, after looking for them the usual way yesterday and not finding them
today I went into the cars for a deeper look,
into the garage, and the garden for a deeper look.
I went into the pit of doom, gloom, butterflies and snowflakes…
AKA the girls room.
We started just looking for the keys, but seriously I started to look around and I noticed something of a familiar theme… within a smaller space.
They have WAY too much STUFF!
It is literally IMPOSSIBLE for them to keep their room tidy
for all the stuff.
We dug in, trudged through the books and clothes and toys
and a few spiders…
until we found the floor, and the bottom of the toybox, and the shelves
where low and behold, there was enough room for all the books.
Well, once we got rid of some of them.
Oh, that was hard!
Then, hubs and I went to get a bow repaired for my son,
he loves to go bow fishing with dad, on the lake.
Anyway, we were walking around waiting for the repair guy.
Where to go? Ha! Always go to the gun cabinets.
Feast your eyes on this:
That was fun. I like guns. This line is especially pretty.
While going through the kids room we found Army Men.
I stole them. Shhh!
I am really glad I did this today.
I cropped the pic, because the house is a disaster at the moment.
I mean you can see the stuff surrounding my computer.
I had to sit back so the glare wouldn’t overtake the screen.
I mean cropping, right?
But when I went to crop just to the computer I noticed something.
My mess, the one by my computer anyway, has many of my happy buttons.
You’ve got my prayer that I say daily for my sons and daughters,
my newly acquired (stolen) army men,
A box from my order that came today, (happy in a box as the kids call it).
You can see my pens – I love my pens.
And a book we use for school.
So many things I love represented in my mess.
See? When the day is really, really long
it’s good to just stop and take a breath.
And while you are at it, start looking at your mess.
I don’t always have good luck with that second part,
sometimes a mess is just a mess.
But today, I’m glad I did.
God loves me.
This was his message from Him.
