Empty Yourself ~Fill Your Empty ~ Five Minute Friday

The tomb was emptied,
then filled,
then emptied again.
Something was left behind.
I am eternally grateful.
So when I have to keep working at emptying myself,
and filling myself,
and emptying myself…
I do it with the knowledge that my struggle is
nowhere near the suffering that

I have to empty myself…
of negativity,
of self-doubt,
of time wasting activity,
of procrastination,
of laziness,
of selfishness.
It is an ongoing process.
I am in a better place than I use to be,
it is easier than it use to be,
easier every day,
to rid myself of the things that drag me down.

I fill myself…
with positivity,
with confidence,
with productivity,
with love,
with knowledge,
with God and His word,
with gratitude,
and generosity.
I work on this daily.
I check myself daily.

Empty, fill, empty, fill… repeat.

  1. So pleased to meet you through FMF. Your post reminds me of Paul’s admission of his struggle in living a life of obedience (Romans 6 – 8). We are all in this together. I like how you described the emptying and filling. Have a blessed Easter!
