Knowing when we need to find our haven is key to making sure the chaos does not consume us.
Finding a haven in the storm can be especially tricky when you can’t just walk away.
According to the Cambridge dictionary, a haven is a safe and peaceful place.
How does one find a safe and peaceful place in the midst of chaos?
You read that right 7 people and a dog in a van 3000 miles. We could not just walk away from the chaos, but we did take a few breaks and got ourselves moving for a short time. You have to get creative.
When chaos ensues, first I get grumpy. Then I try to remember that grumpy is not where I want to be so I try to remember that there are other ways to deal with the chaos. In my house chaos happens. There’s no getting around it. So here are a few things I’ve learned. Not that I always remember them instantaneously, but I am finding it easier and easier to change my attitude.
Make sure your body is getting what it NEEDS. We can not expect ourselves to be able to handle chaos and stress if it’s not getting the proper nutrition. In today’s world, that isn’t easy. Processed foods, stress, lack of time, for all the convenience we have today it’s easy to forget that quick and easy dinners are not always fulfilling to the needs of our bodies. A couple years ago I could not deal with ‘normal’, say nothing of chaos. I found a product that has helped me tremendously with that. I lived on coffee and pain relievers, barely. Then a friend introduced me to Thrive by Le-vel. If you’d like to read my story about how this product has helped me go HERE!
It really does not matter HOW you make sure your body has what it needs, this worked for me and it works well, so I share. Shameless – or not so shameless advertising as I get my products free because I share and others find out it’s awesome too. Click on the pic above if you want more info.
Start your morning right. Get up a little bit early so you can have a few minutes to go over your day and get in a little personal development.
Just like your body needs fuel, and the right kind of fuel, so does your soul and your mind. God’s word works for me, He never fails to lead me where I need to go. I also take a few minutes to listen to something that helps me with my business, or the task I’m focusing on at that moment like meal planning or organization. And exercise. I walk or do an exercise video most mornings.
As I said chaos still happens in my house, I can’t just walk away, but I can step away and I can find a new perspective on things. I tend to walk out my door and find something new to focus on for a minute.
Honestly, there is nothing better than learning to change your attitude and your focus so that your “haven” can be anywhere. It is not easy doing this but like every habit the more you practice it the easier it gets.
Where is your haven now?
Is it difficult to get there?
Think of ways you can MAKE your haven, your peace, where you are.
Focus on your purpose.
“My belief is in the chaos of the world and that you have to find your peace within the chaos and that you still have to find some sort of mission.”
