I still don’t have all the lights up.

I still don’t have all my Christmas dinner stuff.

I still have not gotten a good start on our Advent traditions.
Tip: it’s 2 weeks into advent and less than 2 weeks from Christmas.

I don’t have time to sit still and write for 5 minutes.

Except that maybe being still, and thinking about God’s word that we studied today. Wisdom.

Maybe this 5 minutes of still is exactly what I need, in order to refresh. In order to center. In order NOT to go off on some crazy tirade about Mary on a stinky donkey with my kids as they mention that it doesn’t “feel” like Christmas yet. (That happened… even added that the donkey pooed and made it even more stinky… yeah, mom was a little stressed.)

Be still, and listen.

Last year I worked on Purpose. That was my word and my focus. I was not perfect, but I am blessed to see that God has worked with me on finding my purpose, and better yet, helping me to find satisfaction in my purpose. I will continue to work on that.

Next year?

Grace. Having it, Using it, Giving it freely.
I’ll have to work harder.
I am not Graceful. I will get back into the WORD, back into sharing, back into spending my morning time being still.

Speak to me Father, I am listening.

  1. Excellent post, Maxine Marie. SO GOOD. My one word for 2019 is GRACE also!

  2. As I have sat still this week, my one word for the year has come as well. So funny how it can be right before us and we miss it, until we are still. Grace is like that as well – as we take time to be still, His grace comes and fills us. May you find the grace flowing in you, through you , and out of you in abundance in the new year. Blessings!

  3. that would be an interesting word for the new year…to focus on grace for a year. It’s amazing where it will take you.

  4. Grace, grace and more grace! Blessed to be your neighbor at FMF this week.
