Throwing In the Towel…

This week has me feeling like throwing in the towel.

I’m talking total surrender.
Too much time off for Christmas break.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it.
But when the schedule gets thrown out of whack for more than a day,
it takes that much time to get back into the groove.
One kid got into it pretty well,
she’s been here before and has learned.
One kid took a little longer.
Two kids JUST got back into it, sort of.
Yes, this week has me feeling like throwing in the towel.
Today I realized it fits with the year.
Thanks, poster staring at me from the wall…
with my goals…
and my “word”…
just staring at me.

Proverbs 31
Titus 2
Ok. OK. OK!
I surrender, to my purpose.
I surrender to the consequences.
I surrender the week.
I surrender my attitude.
I surrender the stress.
I surrender to you, Lord.
And I take a deep breath and learn the lessons.
I pray harder.
I ponder St. Monica.
I ponder St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
I ponder St. Therese of Lisieux.
I ponder Mother Mary.
I ask for their intercession to make the most of these lessons.
I thank God for His plan for my life.
For the purpose He has given to me.
And I praise him for another week.

  1. Ok, ok, ok. Spoken like a true sister. Those are usually the words I utter before surrendering the things that are being repeated over and over for me to do (or not do!).

    Thanks for sharing, “neighbor!”

  2. It’s definitely not easy, is it? But it is a relief when we hand it over to God. Visiting from FMF #22.
